Linda R. Knapp, a local area resident for more than 40 years and formerly of Peekskill, passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Thursday, February 24, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 73.

Daughter of the late Ernest and Ellen (McInerney) Botscheller, she was born in Manhattan on July 16, 1948.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Knapp, on November 8, 2011. She was also predeceased by her son, Frank S. Copit, Jr., on September 2, 2017.
More than anything else, Linda cherished spending time with her granddaughters, Kara and Kaley Copit, who survive in Wappingers Falls. Linda was lovingly referred to as Gigi, especially by her granddaughters.

Additional survivors include her daughter-in-law, Paola Copit of Wappingers Falls; her siblings, Ronald Botscheller & his wife Linda of Hopewell Junction, Ernest Botscheller & his wife Mary of Hyde Park, Marie Kauffman & her husband John of Wappingers Falls, and Debbie Cahill & her husband Mike of Wappingers Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill.
