WAPPINGERS FALLS – Lisa Jean DeGiorgio, 29, a lifelong area resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at home.
Lisa was born in Poughkeepsie on April 14, 1985. She was a 2003 graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School where she played on the field hockey team, a 2006 graduate of Dutchess Community College, and a 2009 graduate of SUNY Oneonta where she volunteered with OSES as an emergency technician.
An avid fan of the New York Knicks, Lisa enjoyed singing, dancing, writing poetry, and viewing movies especially Frozen. She was always there to help others in need, and loved her nieces and nephews more than anything.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Judy (LeBlanc) DeGiorgio of Wappingers Falls; her father, Mario (Rebeca) DeGiorgio, and her brothers, Marcos and Gino DeGirogio of Carmel; her sisters, Lauren Lewis and her husband Michael of Poughkeepsie, Jeannine Conforti and her husband Joseph of Hopewell Junction, and Tara DeGiorgio and Brian Bischoff of Pawling; her nieces and nephews, Christopher, Rebecca, Mackenzie, Kaylie, Berney, and Jacob; her grandfather, Berney LeBlanc of Wappingers Falls; her boyfriend, Joshua Ogle; and her cats, Chloe and Bubbles.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
