Lorenzo Antonio Corona, 87, of Wappingers Falls, died peacefully on June 17, 2024 at his daughter's home.
Born in Los Ranchos de Babosico, Dominican Republic on October 27, 1936, he was the son of Roman Teodoro Corona-Diaz and Dolores Del Carmen Fernandez. He arrived by ship from the Dominican Republic to New York City at the age of 22.
Lorenzo worked at 301 East 38th Street at the Majestic Building in New York City as the Concierge and Maintenance Man. Prior to that he worked on the docks in New York City and with horses in Upstate NY. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Lorenzo is survived by his children, Minerva Corona-Mendoza, Leonilda Whelan, and Gilberto Corona; his grandchildren, James Whelan, Ryan Whelan, Juan Carlos Corona-Monsalve, Michael Anthony Mendoza, Christian Alexander Mendoza and Andrew C. Mendoza; and his siblings, Luis Corona Tavarez, Roman Apolinar Corona, Ana Christina Taveras Corona, Santiago Valentin Tavarez, Pedro Narciso Corona Tavarez, Ramona Altagracia Corona de Fernandez, Martha Corona, Felix Corona, Gladys Niela Dolan, Norma Fernandez, Fausto Taveras Corona.
Good afternoon family. The Mass of Nine Days of our brother, Lorenzo Antonio Corona, will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on 104th Street at 7pm on Friday, June 28, 2024. Our loving brother, Lorenzo Antonio Corona, is forever resting at St. Michael's Cemetery in Queens.
