POUGHKEEPSIE – Lori Johnson, 61, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully at home March 2, 2023.

Born in Poughkeepsie on July 28, 1961, she was the daughter of Charlotte Johnson and the late Mark L. Johnson. Lori was a graduate of Dutchess Community College and was employed as a software engineer at IBM in Poughkeepsie. Lori was an accomplished ballet dancer, receiving scholarships to the American Ballet Theater, and the School of Ballet at Lincoln Center.

Lori enjoyed gardening, painting, crocheting, quilting, reading and ballet. She loved her dog, Dorcie, who was her companion on her journey through life.
Lori is survived by her mother, Charlotte Johnson; her siblings and their spouses, Wendy and Bruce Stimpson, Mark and Maryanne Johnson, and Sheri DeGroodt; her nieces and nephews, Mark and Roisin Johnson, Sarah and Bo Jung, Karissa Johnson, Danielle Johnson, Curtis Stimpson, Eric and Katy Stimpson; and her grand-niece, Zoraya Stimpson.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 10:30-11:30am, followed by a prayer service at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A burial service will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
