Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – We are honoring our beautiful, crazy, funny, loving Lori Lipton and her life. Lori Lipton, 66, an area resident since 2000, passed away at home on April 6th, 2024. She grew up in Great Neck, Long Island and previously lived in Carmel.

Lori was born on September 10, 1957 in the Bronx. Her career in real estate spanned over three decades, including many years at Lipton Realty in Carmel before continuing at Weichert Realty in Fishkill. Following her realty career, Lori worked at MARC/Florence Manor as an alcoholic and substance abuse counselor from 2009-2011.

On September 22, 2001 in Wappingers Falls, Lori married Michael V. Dennerlein who survives at home. She is also survived by her sons, Michael Lipton and his wife Alyssa of Wappingers Falls and Mark Lipton of Hayward, CA; her newborn grandson, Chase Lipton; her mother, Barbara (Mendolson) Moskowitz of Glen Cove, Long Island; her sister, Robin Jacobson and her husband Eric; her brother-in-law, Joe Dennerlein; her sister-in-law, Jolene Major; and many nieces and nephews.

An avid outdoorswoman, Lori especially liked fishing, camping, hiking, and bird watching. She enjoyed cooking and sewing not only because she was good at it, but because it was something she could do for others to enjoy. Lori was blessed with a green thumb and knew all the tricks for growing more tomatoes than anyone could know what to do with. Lori loved to have fun with everything she did. From singing and dancing to going to concerts, baseball games and traveling around the world with her best friend, lover, and overall partner in crime Michael Dennerlein.

Lori was very spiritual, and besides having a wonderful relationship with God, she easily touched every life she came across. Most will remember Lori for her beautiful smile, and the way she made you feel better about yourself without even trying. Putting everyone else's needs before her own, and making sure to help anyone who may have needed help, Lori's heart knew no bounds. While raising her two sons, Michael and Mark, Lori was not only a mother to them, but to all of their friends as well. She was what you would call, "the cool mom," the one who anyone could feel comfortable talking to about anything.

Lori will be desperately missed by all those that she's left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this untimely loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on April 13th, 2024 from 1-4pm. There will be a service at 1:30pm.
