BEACON – Lorraine Mary Membry (MacIntosh), 85, an area resident since 2003, died peacefully on August 22, 2022, at the Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McMonegal) MacIntosh. Lorraine was employed by Mutual of New York Insurance Company (MONY), then the North Bergen Board of Education, until her retirement in 2003. She was a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
Lorraine retired after a more than 45-year career to move from her beloved New Jersey to Beacon, New York to await the birth of her granddaughter. She enjoyed shopping, visiting the Jersey Shore (especially Ocean Grove), restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends. The biggest joy in her life was watching her granddaughter Amanda grow up. Lorraine enthusiastically attended all of Amanda's dance recitals, plays and school events. Amanda was truly the light of her life.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Laura Reeves, and her husband Kevin of Hopewell Junction; her granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Reeves; her niece, Virginia Brinton, and her husband Mark of Charlotte, North Carolina; her great-nephews, Gregory and Trevor Brinton; her cousin, Carolyn McMonegal of New York, New York; her step niece Tammy Frasca, and her husband James of Easton, Pennsylvania; her step great-niece and nephews, Ryan, Joseph and Kaitlyn Frasca; and her best friend of more than 60 years, Cathy Mordente of New Hyde Park, New York.
In addition to her parents, Lorraine was also predeceased by her brother, Douglas MacIntosh; and her nephew, Scott MacIntosh. She loved and missed them both dearly.
Lorraine was the best Mother and Grandmother anyone could ask for. She will be loved and missed eternally.
