Lothar W. Gruber, of Fishkill, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 91.
Son of the late Arnold and Ella (Paul) Gruber, he was born on October 25, 1922 in Germany. At the age of 2, his family emigrated to the United States in 1924.
Lothar worked many years for I.B.M. During his career, he relocated to many different facilities including those in Mohansic, East Fishkill, and San Jose, CA. He retired in 1987 as Associate Engineer.
In 1964, he married Marianne Troidl in New York City. Mrs. Gruber survives at home.
Lothar is also survived by his son, Peter Gruber of Mohegan Lake; his cousin, Edgar Fischer of Clairmont; and his cousin, Herbert Paul of New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Meyer.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 23 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., immediately following the visitation, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
