Belardi
June 23, 1931 – April 24, 2026
Louis A. Belardi , a resident of Fishkill for 35 years, formerly of Somers, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was 94.
Son of the late Louis and Anna (Martinelli) Belardi, he was born in Mount Kisco on June 23, 1931. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Air Police Squadron during the Korean Conflict. A proud American Veteran, he was honorably discharged from service in 1959 after an eight-year tenure with the Air Force.
Louis was a dedicated member of the Local 137 Operating Engineers for 67 years. He was also a skilled trumpet player and belonged to the All County Trumpet group in Westchester. More than anything else, he will be remembered as a genuine family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In 1978, he married Phyllis DiLeo Belardi, who predeceased him just recently on January 18, 2026.
Survivors include his son, Louis Belardi (Janet) of South Salem; his son, Jimmie Belardi (Donna) of South Salem; his son, John Belardi (Beverly) of Carmel; his son, Richard DiLeo (Christina Zipparo) of Poughkeepsie; his son, Robert Belardi (Terry O'Connell) of Lake Tahoe; his grandchildren: Bella, Gabby, Anthony, Nick, Ana, John Jr., Candice, Sara, Wyatt, Coleman, and Reed; and eight great-grandchildren; in addition to many other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, May 1 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A committal service will begin at 11:30am on Saturday, May 2 in the Hugh J. Maurer Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ) or Disabled American Veterans ( www.dav.org ).
