WAPPINGERS FALLS – Louis Chafouleas, 67, died on December 26, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. A local resident for the last 1 ½ year, he previously lived his entire life in the Bronx.
Born in Mount Vernon on March 10, 1955, Louie was the son of the late Nicholas and Cleopatra (Pappajohn) Chafouleas. He retired in June of 2021 after 46 years of service as a butcher and meat manager for ACME in Yonkers, formerly Waldbaums and A&P.
An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, and boating. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
On March 23, 1991 in the Bronx, he married Jody A. (Kunzenmann) Chafouleas who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Taylor Chafouleas of Wappingers Falls; his siblings, Lois Gaglione and her husband Kenneth, Vera Rico, Andrew Chafouleas, and Sandra Sagliano and her husband Michael; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, who was like a brother, Ernest Guardarramas; and many other friends and family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 am at the funeral home.
