Louis S. D'Afflitto, 68, a Town of LaGrange resident, died at home on Sunday, May 16, 2010.
A Dutchess County resident since 1981, Louis had previously resided in Staten Island. For nearly 30 years, he worked for New York State Department of Corrections until retiring in 2006.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Matkovich D'Afflitto, at home; his son, Michael D'Afflitto of LaGrange; his daughter, Jennifer Hodges and her husband John of LaGrange; his daughter, Amanda Borrelli and her husband David of Pleasant Valley; his grandchildren, Logan & Taylor Hodges and Elyse Borrelli; his brother, Samuel D'Afflito and his wife Janet of California; several nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends, especially his loyal German Shepherd "Bear".
Louis was predeceased by his parents, Saverio and Mary Landano D'Afflitto as well as his sister Angela Naugle.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. on Friday at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. A committal service will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, followed by entombment at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY.
