HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Louis F. Perez, 87, of Hopewell Junction for 32 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Louis was a Postal Worker for the United States Post Office at the Church Street Station in Manhattan until his retirement. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during WW II. He was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On March 18, 1945 at Mount Carmel Church in Manhattan, Louis married Lucy Cecere who survives at home. In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by his children, Gerald Perez and his wife Loretta of Florida, Joseph Perez of Hopewell Junction, Jennifer Perez of Manhattan, Lucille Perez of White Plains, and Richard Perez and his wife Diann of Cherry Valley; his grandchildren, Carlene, Gerard, and Jasmine; and his great-grandchildren, Dustin, Anthony, Marcus, and Jude.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 12 pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
