Obituary

Louis S. Warren, Jr., a lifelong Glenham and Fishkill NY resident, passed away peacefully at home in Fishkill on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was 89.

Son of the late Louis S. Warren, Sr. and Josephine Warren Post, he was born in Cold Spring on December 2, 1936. Lou earned a bachelor's degree from Gordon College ( Wenham , MA) and later received a master's in education from the University of Massachusetts at Salem, MA.

On July 2, 1960, he married Sandra Post in Montrose, PA. Sandy survives at home in Fishkill.

Additional survivors include his son, Stephen Warren & his wife Myrna of East Fishkill; his grandsons, Daniel & James Warren; his brother, Glenn Warren & his wife Marvis of Naples, FL; his sisters-in-law, Karen Warren, Arlyn Post, and Jayne Volk; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members.

In addition to his parents, Lou was also predeceased by his brother, John Warren; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Post and Bill Volk.

He dedicated 34 years as a history and economics teacher for Beacon High School, retiring in 1993. His enthusiasm in the classroom made him an unforgettable teacher, as many former students, even years after retirement, happily reflected on their class with him. In addition, Lou was the principal owner and broker of Warren Real Estate for many years.

As a man of strong faith in Jesus Christ and with a desire to share Christ with others, throughout his life he was an active member of different local churches, including Tabernacle Baptist Church (Poughkeepsie). He served in various roles including Deacon, Trustee, School Councilmember, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Group Leader, and head of multiple church building projects. His love for people was evidenced many times by making a point of befriending visitors and making them feel welcome.

Lou enjoyed spending time working around his home and property, especially outdoor landscaping. His 7-acre spread around the house looked more like a golf course than a lawn. He also became involved in politics and was especially proud of managing one of his brother's campaigns for NYS Assembly.
