Lucia T. Apicell, a resident of Fishkill for the last 11 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 80.
Born in the Bronx on May 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Grace Strafella Marra. Lucia worked for many years as a Secretary for the Archdiocese of New York. She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and formerly of St. Anthony's Church in the Bronx.
In 1952, she married Jack R. Apicella at St. Anthony's Church in the Bronx. Her husband survives at home.
Lucia is also survived by her three daughters, Jacqueline Pettinati & her husband Ronald of East Fishkill, Christine Brody & her husband James of Putnam Valley and Stephanie Pipola & her husband Louis of East Fishkill; her son, Jack V. Apicella of Monroe; her grandchildren, Justin Pettinati, Giana-Jolie Pipola, and Jack, Joseph & Matthew Apicella; her sister, Christine Favale & her husband Dominick of Fishkill; also several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members & friends.
Calling hours will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. on Monday, April 9th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10Fth at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
