Lou (Luciano) Paggiotta of Garrison and formerly of Yonkers and Fishkill, died on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at home. He was 75.

Lou was born in Yonkers, New York to Alfred and Concetta (Contarino) Paggiotta on June 11, 1946. He attended Yonkers Schools; served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed at the demilitarized zone in Korea for most of that time. Upon his return home, he was part-owner of a landscape contracting company and later a kitchen and bath remodeling company, both in Yonkers and part-owner of Dom D'Agostino's Nurseries in Mahopac, Fishkill, New City and Danbury.

He married Laraine Sydlo on November 12, 1977 and they resided in Garrison, New York since 1983. Since 1993 he owned and operated The Plant Depot on Route 9 in Fishkill, along with his wife Laraine, retiring in 2015. He loved taking care of the beautiful gardens surrounding his home and his wife of almost 45 years and loved his family and spending time with them whenever possible. He was a believer that in order to achieve what you wanted in life, you had to work hard for it - which he did - and achieved success and happiness in all that he accomplished.

He was predeceased by his mother (2000) and father (2004) and is survived by his wife Laraine of Garrison, his sister Roseann and her partner Robert of Yonkers and Lagrangeville, his cousin Dominick D'Anna and his wife Barbara, and his cousin Frank Branca and his wife Joanne as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Lou was an animated storyteller and will be greatly missed by many.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4pm – 8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10am at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 24 Fair Street, Cold Spring followed by interment at Cold Spring Cemetery.
