Lucienne M. Moriaz, a local area resident for 30 years and formerly of Margaretville & Cold Spring, died at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was 88.
Daughter of the late Albert and Perrine (Salice) Baume, she was born in Toulon, France on September 26, 1926. In 1942, she married George J. Moriaz. She was predeceased by her husband on March 2, 2014 after 72 years of marriage.
Lucienne came to the United States in 1950. In addition to raising five children, she also served as the hostess at La Ruche, a restaurant that she and her husband owned and operated in Cold Spring for many years until their retirement in 1974.
She attended the Hopewell Junction congregation of Jehova's Witnesses.
Survivors include her son, Bernard Moriaz (Tina) of Hawaii; her daughter, Danielle Valentine (Raymond) of Wappingers Falls; her son, Alain Moriaz (Gail) of Brewster; her daughter, Sylvianne Haig (Jeff) of Corning; her son-in-law, Edward Gezirjian of Patterson; her grandchildren, Thorin, Yolanda, Jasmine, Jeremy, Jillian, Talia, Trisha, and Michele; and her great-grandchildren, Maika, Emily, Sophie, Maile, Caleb, Noah, Alex, Tristan, George, Claire, Lincoln, Westley, Logan, and Kenton. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Christiane Gezirjian in 2003; an infant son, Daniel during World War II; her sister, Jeanette Naga; and brother, Marcel Baume.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 4 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehova's Witnesses, 383 All Angels Hill Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.
