Lucille Marion Johnson, 74, a local area resident for over 50 years, died at The Elant at Fishkill on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
Born on November 18, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lodia Dolbeck Martel. Lucille was raised in West Springfield, MA. She had retired as a Corrections Officer at Downstate Correctional Facility, where she worked for 15 years. Lucille attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, where she was active in the prayer ministry. A member of the Civil Air Patrol, she also enjoyed outdoor activities including kayaking along the Hudson and camping.
She is survived by her two daughters, Elaine Cullen & her husband Richard of Fishkill and Christine Smith & her husband Donald, Jr. of Fishkill; her son, Clayton Ose of Amenia; her grandchildren, Tracy & Trevor Cullen of Fishkill; her brother, Richard Martel of New Jersey; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine & Arthur Therrien of Connecticut and Arlene & Gregory Bouchard of New York; also many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members & friends.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The service will begin at 12 p.m. in the funeral home following calling hours with Pastor John R. Thomas officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
