Lucy Ceglio, a Fishkill resident for 18 years and formerly of Hawthorne, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was 92.
Daughter of the late Dominick Cuoco and Rose Sozzi, she was born in the Bronx on March 23, 1921. On December 19, 1942, she married Michael J. Ceglio. Her husband predeceased her on December 20, 1999.
Lucy was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and belonged to the Marian Guild and Knights of Columbus Columbiettes, Council 4065. She was also active with the Fishkill Senior Citizens Group.
She was loved by all who knew her, and will be sorely missed. She leaves behind her son, Michael Ceglio & his wife Goldie of Fishkill; her daughter, Patricia Ceglio of Norwalk, CT; her daughter, Lisa Makofske & her husband Michael of Maryland, NY; her sons-in-law, Tony Pallas of Montgomery and Andrew Pinnow of West Boylston, MA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Tony Cuoco & his wife Rosemarie of Somers; her sister, Frances Geremino of Newburgh; her sister, Tessie Vecchione of Holbrook, NY; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband, Lucy was also predeceased in death by two daughters, Angela Pallas in 2007 and Donna Pinnow in 2010.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
The family would like to thank the staff of the 7th Floor South Circle Unit at Vassar Brothers Medical Center for the care and compassion they provided to Lucy during her final days.
