Lucy O'Brien Santorello, 82, a resident of Beekman since 1978 and formerly of Flushing, died on Monday, August 8, 2011 at her home.
Born in Flushing on March 11, 1929, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Kayman O'Brien. She worked as a cashier for Key Food on Casino Blvd. in Flushing for many years. Lucy was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and a member of the Third Order of Franciscans, the Blue Army for Mary and the Altar Rosary Society at St. Michael's Church in Flushing.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Carmine Santorello, on August 27, 2009. She is survived by her children, Marie Santorello of Lawrence Harbor, NJ, Charles Santorello and his wife Kathi of Shirley, Lucy Coletta and her husband Robert of Poughquag and Betsy Santorello of Glen Ridge, NJ; her brother, Charles O'Brien and his wife Helen of East Meadow; her grandchildren, Kathleen Coletta Feldman, Kerry Zukowski, Kathryn Talbot, Colleen Zukowski, Rob Coletta, Paul Santorello, Samantha Fisher, Regina Fisher, Margaret Santorello, Brian Fisher, Kenneth Coletta and Charlie Santorello; and her great-grandchildren, Zoe Santorello, Meghan, Adam, Elizabeth and Dylan Talbot.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
