Wappingers Falls – Luis Antonio Soto, 71, an area resident for over 40 years and formerly of Riverdale, died on May 7, 2024 at Bronx Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation following a long illness.
Born in Manhattan on February 22, 1953, he was the son of the late Luis and Antonia (Torres) Soto. He attended the University of Tennessee. Luis proudly served our country for two tours of Vietnam in the US Army and was employed as a State Trooper with the New York State Police Troop K, retiring in 2013. An avid car collector, he was well known for attending classic car shows throughout New York State.
Luis is survived by his sister Aida Iris Soto Haddock; his nieces, Aida Haddock-Sanchez, Iris Haddock and Irene Haddock; his nephew, Ivan Haddock Jr.; 6 grand-nieces, 11 grand-nephews and 4 great, grand-nieces.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by military honors. Private interment will be in St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
