Lydia Gray, 84, a resident of Stormville for the last five years and a former resident of Mamaroneck, passed away due to complications from a stroke she suffered on Friday, April 17, 2014. Lydia died peacefully with family by her side on April 20, 2014.

Lydia was born in Port Chester on March 16, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Felicia (Ventura) DeFalco and Amodio DeFalco. Lydia married Robert Gray in May of 1951. Robert predeceased her on January 8, 1987.

Lydia is survived by two sons, Edward (Angela) Gray of Bradenton, FL and Robert (Julie) Gray of Stormville. She is also survived by three loving grandchildren, Sasha Gray of Bradenton, FL and Robert and Tyler Gray of Stormville and numerous nieces and nephews. Lydia was also predeceased by her three brothers, Elmiro, Lawrence and Elidoro DeFalco, and three sisters, Virginia Matthews of Mamaroneck, Mary Bova of Mamaroneck and Aurora "Vicky" Reed of Washington State.

In her earlier years Lydia loved to garden, paint and draw. Lydia loved watching sports and her favorite teams were the New York Yankees, New York Giants and New York Rangers. She loved reading the bible especially the New Testament. John 3:16 was her favorite verse "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Friday at the funeral home followed by burial at 11 am at Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North Street, Rye.
