Madeleine B. "Maddy" Troy, 93, passed peacefully into God's hands on August 28th.
Maddy was a resident of Dutchess Park in Fishkill since 1961, raising her six children single-handedly after the passing of her beloved husband, Thomas, in 1967. Maddy lived her life for her family. Her faith, work ethic and determination (stubbornness) were instilled in her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Maddy worked as an office manager for almost forty years at various local businesses.
Maddy was joined in Fishkill by her sister, and best friend, Nancy Bohlin, "Sis," in 1968.
Maddy was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Lucille Topazio, her brother Vincent Topazio, sister Nancy, and son Anthony. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Thomas F. Troy and his wife, Paula; Joseph T. Troy and his wife, Lee; June Troy, (wife of Anthony); Mary F. Foley and her husband, David; Judey T. Troy and her wife, Angelina; and Vincent A. Troy and his Fiancé, Joanne.
Maddy was the proud grandmother of Danielle Hagstrom and her husband, Larson; Jessica Mannhaupt and her husband, Mike; Kayla Farrel and her husband, Brian; Max Foley and his wife, Rizina Hakimiyan; Jesse Troy; Thomas Foley and his wife, Corie; Nataliene Pugliese and her husband, Brian; Thomas M. Troy; Madeleine E. Troy; Mark Troy and his wife, Emily; and Anthony J. Troy. Maddy adored her great-grandchildren, Giella, Penelope, and Axel Hagstrom; Walker and Sunny June Pugliese, and all those yet to come.
Maddy is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Ronald LaBarge and his wife, Donna; Toni Ann Griffen and her husband, Steven; Lucille Smith and her husband, Kevin. Her great nieces and nephews Nicole Hocutt and her husband, Doug; Steven Griffen and his wife, Mary Beth; Ryan Griffen and his wife, Lauren; Ronald LaBarge and his wife, Meghan. Her great grand nieces and nephews Mara and Lucas Hocutt; Oliver and Ella Griffen; Quinn Labarge.
Maddy was beloved by many friends and neighbors over the years, and the family wants to especially thank her lifelong neighbors Philip and Paul Colangelo for their continual support, as well as Ms. Wendy Hare for caregiving during the last 3 years of Maddy's life. We would also like to thank Judy DiMattia and Kerri Clerc for contributing greatly to Maddy's care in her final months.
A funeral service will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, with the service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hudson Valley Hospice.
