Madeline F. Cannella, 88, a resident of Millbrook for 17 years and previously of the Bronx, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011.
Born in Manhattan on March 18, 1923, she was the daughter of Louis and Filomena Pirozzi Morelli. She had been employed as a secretary for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook.
Madeline was predeceased by her husband Anthony Cannella on November 22, 1986. She is survived by her daughters, Madelyn Early and her husband Patrick of Mahopac and Lucy Hanusik and her husband Douglas of LaGrangeville; her grandchildren, Suzanne and Don Merriman, Michael and Nicole Early, Kate Early and Antonia Hanusik; her great-granddaughters, Madeline and Sydney; her brothers and their wives, Louis and Maria Morelli of Tenafly, NJ and John and Phyllis Morelli of Brooklyn; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 8:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 15 North Avenue, Millbrook followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla.
