Mafalda Monte, 91, formerly of Wingdale and the Bronx, died peacefully at her home in Lynbrook on November 26, 2021.

Born in Manhattan on October 1, 1930, she was the daughter of Attilio and Dolores (Piazza) Pecile. Mafalda retired as a microfilm manager for General Foods in White Plains. She had been a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pawling where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and baking.

On March 17, 1951 in New York City, Mafalda married Dominic Monte who predeceased her on October 11, 2005. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda and Louis Terracciano, Donna and Joseph DeFrancesco, Valerie and Stephen D'Adamo, Lisa and Renato Scotton, Dr. Mark and Elizabeth Monte, Peter and Elisabeth Monte; her grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Alyssa Terracciano, John and Nicole Terracciano, Alexandra and Eric Schneider, Daniel and Samantha DeFrancesco, Stephanie D'Adamo, Michael D'Adamo, Lauren Scotton, Christopher and Amanda Scotton, Mark Monte Jr., Ava Monte, Ryan Monte, Nicholas Monte, Anthony Monte, Austin Monte, and Finn Monte; and her great-grandsons, Leto Terracciano and Jack Terracciano.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 3-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. John's Cemetery in Pawling.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
