Poughquag – Maja Lisa Field, 58, passed away on September 6, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Maja was born in Kingston, NY on March 17, 1964 to parents Rudy and Anna (Magnus) Wasserbach. On October 5, 1985, she married the love of her life Jonathan Austin Field at Blue Mountain Reformed Church in Saugerties, NY.
Maja ran a daycare from her home for a number of years, and then spent 18 years working as a Teacher's Assistant at Union Vale Middle School in Unionvale, NY, having an immense impact on the kids she cared for and taught. She was an Elder at the Fishkill Reformed Church, and then was both a Youth and Lay Leader at the Poughquag United Methodist Church. Maja loved to scrapbook; spend time in the sun and at the beach; and spend time with her family. Most importantly, Maja touched the lives of everyone with whom she came in contact.
Maja is survived by her beloved husband Jonathan Field; her son Alexander Field and his wife Maggie of Red Hook, NY; her daughter CiCi Olmedo and her husband Michael of Poughquag, NY; her granddaughters Olivia and Camila Antonio-Nunez of Poughquag, NY; her brother Christian Wasserbach and his wife Lisa of Saugerties, NY; her brother Bruno Wasserbach of Saugerties, NY; and her sister Diane Rinaldi of Catskill, NY; her mother-in-law Geri and father-in-law Richard of Inverness, FL, and her niece Aynslie Wasserbach of Albany, NY.
She was pre-deceased by her parents Rudy and Anna Wasserbach, and her uncle Bruno Magnus.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Poughquag United Methodist Church, 21 Church St. Poughquag NY 12570.
