POUGHKEEPSIE – Major Sandhu, 55, a resident of Poughkeepsie since 2005, passed away on October 8, 2015 at South Nassau Communities Hospital. He previously lived in Queens, NY.
Born in India on March 6, 1960, he was the son of Gulzar and Joginder Sandhu. He was a local gas station business owner and a member of the the Gurdwara Sahib, Mid-Hudson Sikh Cultural Society. An avid football fan, Major especially enjoyed spending time with his children watching games and movies.
Major is survived by his wife, Prabdeep Sandhu at home; his daughter, Rajwant Sandhu of Poughkeepsie; and his sons, Jagroop Sandhu and Gurlal Sandhu, both of Poughkeepsie.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday from 10 am-12 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Procession will immediately follow to the crematory at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Road, Poughkeepsie. Please visit Major's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
