Malcolm J. Arrick, a long-time resident of Poughquag, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 to be with our Lord and some of his loved ones who have gone to Heaven.
Born in Manhattan on January 10, 1945 at Woman's Hospital, he was the son of Meyer Albert and Katherine Arrick. His only sibling Lee Arrick predeceased him on May 1, 2006.
Malcolm worked for many years at DeLaval and Alfa Laval in Poughkeepsie as a machinist, welder and boiler room operator. He enjoyed many wonderful years there and made many great friends. He also worked at IBM, East Fishkill for Johnson Controls as a HVAC Mechanic. He was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
He loved his vacations in St. Martin, the Cape, Jersey Shore and most recently spending the last few winters in Sarasota, FL with his wife and closest friends, Bob and Kathy Cooper, who will deeply miss him. He especially liked his NY Yankees and spending quality time with his family.
He leaves behind his wife Marguerite; his son, Scott, wife Genine and beloved grandchildren Tyler, Stephanie, Michael and Jamie; and his son, Randy, wife Susan and beloved grandchildren Emily and Ryan. He adored all of them and loved them with all of his heart. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Hospice for all of their help and especially Jason and Susan for all of the loving care and comfort that was given to our beloved husband, father and grandfather.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in the Clove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice Foundation, Inc. or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
