Marcelino Solis, Jr., 80, a 40 year resident of Hopewell Junction, formerly of the Bronx and more recently of Briny Breezes, FL, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Bethesda Hospital East, Boynton Beach, FL from complications of Multiple Myeloma.
Born in New York City on January 12, 1933, he was the son of Marcelino Solis, Sr. and Carmen Solis (nee Diaz). He proudly served our country in the US Air Force and was employed as an engineer for IBM, East Fishkill for 25 years until his retirement in 1991. An avid history buff, Marc enjoyed woodworking, listening to music such as opera and flamenco, doing projects around the house, drinking scotch, and reading.
On August 26, 1961 in New York City, Marc married Marie Lackatas who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Karolyn Baumgartner of Bethel, CT; Christopher Solis of Richfield, OH; Margaret Solis of Kansas City, MO; Jeanny Busacca of Orlando, FL; and seven grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 8, at 1 pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
