Margaret Ann Coffey, 83, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2021 and formerly of the Bronx and Yonkers, died peacefully at her home on April 15, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Killann, County Cavan, Ireland on October 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Tierney) Clarke. Margaret worked in private home care for more than 30 years.

Margaret enjoyed going to Rockaway beach and was an avid fan of the New York Mets, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

On October 23, 1965 at Our Lady of Refuge Church in the Bronx, Margaret married the love of her life, Jeremiah Coffey, who predeceased her on May 27, 2013. Margaret is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry (Breda) Coffey, Brian (Marie) Coffey, and Joanne (Chris) Burns; her grandchildren, Katie Coffey, Casey Burns, Corinne Burns, Kelly Coffey, Brian Coffey, Joseph Coffey, Kiera Burns and Madison Coffey; her brothers Tony, Benny, and Michael; her sister Rose McCabe; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her siblings, Eileen O'Brien, Patsy Clarke, and Lecia Smyth.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1- 5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11: 30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
