Margaret A. DeRosa, 66, a resident of Poughquag since 1973 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born on November 17, 1943 in Belfast, Ireland, she was the daughter of Walter and Martha Shannon Brown. Margaret crossed the pond in 1964 and has been employed as a floor supervisor by Dutchess County ARC in Poughkeepsie since 1986. She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
On December 11, 1966, Margaret married Frank B. DeRosa who predeceased her on January 16, 1986. She is survived by her sons, Christopher and his wife Kristin of Hyde Park, Michael and his wife Lori of Poughquag and Stephen of Poughquag; her grandchildren, Jessica, C.J., Anthony, Alexandra, Shannon and Harlie; her brothers, James, Gerard and Michael Brown of Ireland; her sisters, Elizabeth O'Riordan of New York City and Katherine Canavan of Ireland; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Ruth Bunn.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
