Margaret L. Miner, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 10, 2025, at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, surrounded by love and family. She was 72.

A longtime resident of New Rochelle, Margaret eventually traded New York winters for the milder climate of Virginia Beach when her joints could no longer handle the cold. Her final year brought her back to New York-a move she grumbled about, but one that ultimately filled her heart with the presence of family and friends.

To all who knew and loved her, she was simply known as Amma.

A former dispatcher for both the New Rochelle and Westchester County Police Departments, as well as a dedicated EMT and nurse, Margaret lived a life defined by service-always putting others before herself, whether on the job or in her personal life.

She was the cherished mother of Aaron, Ronald, and Abdul-Khaliq, and a loving mother-in-law to Kristene and Zubaidah. But her most treasured role-the one that earned her the name Amma-was as grandmother to her 11 grandchildren: Stephanie, Nicolas, Kyle, Elizabeth, Ariam, Narenzo, Tati-Ana, Nuraddeen, Majahid, Yasmeen, and Layla.

She was also deeply blessed to be a great-grandmother to Liam, Ethan, Nora, and Ayah.

Margaret is survived by many loving siblings: Shari Mitchell, Dawn Davis, Robin Pleasant, Karen Williams, Darren Mitchell, Kip Mitchell, Bryan Morella, and Gina Morella. She is predeceased by her beloved sister, Natalie Blanco, and brother, Joseph Blanco.

And if you knew Marge, you can probably guess her final words:

"FTBS-I'm only 29!"

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:30 AM at St. Columba Church, 835 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. All who wish to attend and pay their final respects are welcome.
