Margaret O'Connor, 73, an area resident for 40 years and formerly of Mahopac Falls and Syracuse, died peacefully on April 25, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on August 26, 1943, she was the daughter of Mathias and Mary (Zajac) Eberhardy. Marge had been employed as a receptionist for Hudson Valley Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy in Fishkill.

Marge was a devoted parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She had served as President of the Altar Rosary Society, and had scheduled the altar servers and volunteered with the Summer Joy Program for many years.

On April 16, 1966 in Milwaukee, Marge married Robert E. O'Connor who survives at home. She is also survived by her son, Timothy O'Connor and his wife Deborah of Poughkeepsie; her daughter, Maureen Hennet and Ken of Bethel, CT; her grandchildren, Nicholas Hennet, Emily and Claire O'Connor; and her brothers and their wives, John and Mary Eberhardy, and Thomas and Paula Eberhardy; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
