Obituary

Margaret C. Paulmann, 65, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 22 years and formerly of New Rochelle, died peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Glasgow, Montana on November 27, 1946, she was the daughter of Bernard and Emily Elliot Majusiak. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Dickinson State University in North Dakota and her Masters Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Fordham University. She was a missionary for the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota where she worked with the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nations for 5 years. She was presently employed by ShopRite in Carmel as a cashier, sampler and puller. She was very involved with 4H, serving as a co-leader for the Barnyard Critters.
Margaret was a deeply spiritual woman and very involved in her faith. She was a parishioner of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville where she was a Eucharistic Minister, choir member, Faith Formation teacher and a member of Spirit Wind Charismatic Prayer Group. She had also been in the choir and a Religious Education teacher at St. Columba Church. She participated in the Charismatic Movement and Mariapolis Luminosa.
On June 16, 1986 at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy in the Bronx, Margaret married Thomas A. Paulmann who survives at home. She is also survived by her son, Thomas Paulmann; her daughter, Kate Paulmann, a senior at Franciscan University in Steubenville; her siblings and their spouses, Marie and Mickey Allen, Patty Stiebolt, Fred and Kathy Majusiak, Bernard and Kathy Majusiak, John Majusiak, Chris and Kristen Majusiak, Joseph Majusiak, Mari Lu and Robert Waugaman, Tina and John Stauffer and Jean Majusiak; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her brother, Steven Majusiak.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
