Obituary

Margaret "Rita" J. Pramaggiore, 92, former resident of Putnam County NY, died peacefully on May 17 2022.

Born in Astoria, Queens on November 29, 1929 Margaret was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Kadi) Marhan.

Rita met the love of her life in a mechanics shop when Rudy rolled out from under a car to see what was attached to those legs, a love story that would live on for years and years. Married August 20 1950, they built a beautiful life together. Rita was employed by IBM as an executive secretary, and later a manager, at several locations throughout Westchester County.

Rita stopped people in their tracks when she would ice skate. She was an avid knitter/crocheter, always creating beautiful pieces for everyone she knew. She could mend anything that needed it. She called herself the "Knit Witt". She volunteered for many years at the Kent Library teaching computer classes to seniors. She was adored by everyone who knew her and touched the lives of everyone she encountered, one way or another. She loved to cook, and there wasn't a dish she couldn't master. She loved to entertain friends and family whether it be a special occasion or just because. She was an excellent gardener and knew every flower under the sun. She took great pride in being of Hungarian descent and spoke Hungarian fluently. She traveled all over the country, Europe and her favorite place to visit was Bermuda.

She lived a remarkable life, she was very family oriented and left an everlasting impression in the hearts of her family.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Rudolph C. Pramaggiore (D) June 9 2001.

She is survived by her two daughters: Julie Peterkin and her husband, Doug; their children Elaine, Doug and Tom; their children Abigail and Clara. Nancy Boling; her children Kimberly and her husband Daniel, and Nicholas and his wife Kelly; and their children; Aiden, Charlotte and Mason.

Funeral services will be private. Donations may be made in Margaret's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home. Please visit Margaret's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
