Obituary

Margaret E. Schultz, 99, a resident of Mechanicville and formerly of Fishkill and Bellmore, died peacefully at her home on March 4, 2025.

Born in Glendale on April 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Mattern) Walbroehl. Margaret was a parishioner of All Saints on the Hudson in Mechanicville. She was also a member of the American Legion, Rombout Fire Company Auxiliary and the Dutchess County Fire Auxiliary.

On January 22, 1949 at St. Barnabas the Apostle Church in Bellmore, Margaret married Lawrence J. Schultz who predeceased her on March 3, 2004. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Irene Brooks and her husband Leonard of Mechanicville, and Carol Schultz of Orleans, MA; her grandsons and their wives, Joseph and Emily Schultz of Blythewood, SC, and David and Karissa Schultz of Altavista, VA; and her great-grandchildren, Parker, Noelle and Bentley. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Eugene J. Schultz; her granddaughter, Samantha L. Brooks; and her siblings, Edward, William, Rosemary, Veronica, Frances, Thomas and George.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday March 9, 2025 from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday March 10, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
