Margaret R. Shaw, 85, an area resident for 55 years and formerly of Peekskill, died on December 27, 2022 at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck.

Born in Peekskill on August 5, 1937, she was the daughter of Joaquim and Zulmira (Carneiro) Duarte. Marge was the owner and operator of MarJu Beauty Salon in Hopewell Junction for many years. She enjoyed painting and was a member of the East Fishkill Seniors.

On April 20, 1958 at St. Columbanus Church in Peekskill, Marge married Thomas Shaw who predeceased her in 1985. She was also predeceased by her son, Gregory Shaw; and her brothers Albert and Anthony Duarte.

Marge is survived by her children, Thomas Shaw and his wife Sharon Blazy Shaw, and Jeffrey Shaw and his partner Robert Rovegno; her daughter-in-law, Arlene LePage; her grandchildren, Tristan Shaw, Jessica Shaw and Mike Jambor, Teddy Shaw, Connor Shaw, Clare Shaw and her fiancée Gentri Foster, and Lilly Pena and her husband Evan; her great-grandchildren, Autumn and Levi; her sister-in-law Carol Duarte; Debbie Shaw (Jessica and Teddy's mother); and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
