Margaret Helen Whitmore Spatz, a resident of The Landing in
Poughkeepsie, NY, where she enjoyed rowing, and set a record in 2018
for an 89 year old, rowing 3240 meters in 30 minutes. She also formerly
lived in Barnstable, Cape Cod and Fishkill, NY passed away after a
short illness on September 12, 2023. She was 94 years old.

Margaret is survived by her children: Susan Spaull of London, England,
Mark Spatz of Ridgefield CT. and Valerie Owen, and her husband, Jerry
Owen of Wappingers Falls NY. She is also survived by her five
grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter Spatz and her siblings.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Margaret was employed as an
accountant by N & S Supply, Fishkill, NY and latterly by H & R Block in
Cape Cod and Lakewood Ranch, FL where she continued working until
the age of 78. As an accomplished cook, she was renowned for her
Sunday dinners, baking, particularly her oatmeal and Christmas cookies.

Private funeral arrangements are under the care of McHoul Funeral
Home of Fishkill, NY. A celebration of Margaret's life will be arranged at
a later date.
