Marguerite Montaldo, 66, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1972 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the Bronx on October 14, 1949, she was the daughter of Lester and Eileen Sullivan Hamaker. Marguerite was employed as a maitre d' at Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls for 10 years until her retirement in 2005. She had also worked for Anthony's Catering in Hopewell Junction. Marguerite was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On October 1, 1966 at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx, Marguerite married Richard F. Montaldo who survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Jean Louise Montaldo of LaGrange, Richard F. Montaldo of Wappingers Falls, and Frank David Montaldo of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Scott, Stephen and Alexa Attanasio, Amanda and Matthew Montaldo; her great-grandson, Giovanni Dahdal-Attanasio; her siblings, Chuck Hamaker, Jean DePace, and Bill Hamaker; and her niece and her husband, Debra Aguda and Paul LaRosa.
Marguerite was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and her family was her life. This is where she drew her strength and left behind her legacy. Her interests in gardening, ceramics and baking cookies were all to attract her grandchildren to her loving home.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
