Maria Aida Correia, a resident of Fishkill, and formally of New Rochelle, died on January 3, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 83.

Maria was born in Lisbon, Portugal on July 15, 1937, to the late Joaquim Maria and Maria Libania (Pereira) Carvohle. Maria attended school in Lisbon and completed 2nd grade.

On December 8, 1956, in Ovar, Portugal, Maria married the love of her life, Manuel Depinho Correia.

Maria moved to the United States in 1968 where she began her career as a seamstress. She later became an Italian cook for Del Ponte’s Restaurant in New Rochelle for over 40 years.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Maria Begler and her husband, Jimmy, her daughter Paula Guida, her daughter, Noemia and her husband, Calogero, her daughter Linda Bonnet; her grandchildren, William, Kara, Christina, Salvatore, Leslie, Samantha, Melissa, Charles, and Rocco Jr.; her greatgrandchildren, Laila, Fiona, Aveleen, Carlito, Killian, Lyla, Logan, and Jailynn.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6th at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 95 Kings Highway, New Rochelle.
