Maria L. Cunningham

LAGRANGEVILLE - Maria L. Cunningham, 60, died peacefully on September 15, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. A resident of LaGrangeville for over 25 years, Maria grew up in Mamaroneck, NY.

Maria was born in New Rochelle on January 7, 1966, to Linda (Rauk) Cunningham and the late Walter Cunningham.

She found joy in the simple things in life, especially in listening to music, laughing out loud and sharing her love of animals (and theirs with her). Maria had a warm and loving heart, was a sensitive soul, who seeked inner peace. She treasured the time she spent with her family, quiet naps, a good laugh, nostalgic TV Shows, and anything with fur. Her love, presence and heartfelt laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Linda Cunningham; her siblings, Lisa Serlin with her husband Mitchell, Sean Cunningham, and Amie Smith and her husband Stephen; and her nieces and nephews, Kelsea, Christopher, Rachel, Ryan, and Leila. In addition to her father, Maria was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Cunningham. We take solace in knowing she was met at Heaven's Gate by so many loved ones that have passed before her.

Funeral services will be private at this time. Maria will be buried on Friday next to her father and brother at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY.
