HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Maria Di Giacomo, 79, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Dutchess County for 43 years and previously of Brooklyn.

Born in Cansano, Italy on December 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Maria Domenica (Ruscitti) Di-Paolo. On February 4, 1954 in Cansano, Italy, she married Giulio Di Giacomo who survives at home.

Maria was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She was also member of Noi Italiani D'Oggi (NIDO) at the Italian Center in Poughkeepsie.

In addition to her loving husband of 59 years, Maria is survived by her daughters, Angela Di Giacomo and her husband Paul Wtulich of Hopewell Junction and Anna Marie Coffey and her husband Brendan of Rhinebeck; her granddaughters, Dr. Kristen Coffey, Ashley Coffey, Rachel Coffey, Samantha Coffey, and Alexandra Wtulich; her sister, Connie De Santis of Staten Island, and her sister-in-law, Doria Guadagnoli of New Jersey.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
