FISHKILL – Maria C. Marcella, 76, an area resident for over 36 years, died on February 3, 2023 surrounded by her family at her son's home. She previously lived in Pleasantville.

Born in Calabria, Italy on January 10, 1947, Maria was the daughter of the late Dominick and Marianna (Bongarzone) Marcella. She was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 30 years and held various positions, before retiring as a Clerk. During that same time, she also enjoyed working as a Yoga Instructor and Massage Therapist. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna and Dave Scullin of Hawley, PA and Ray and Melissa Heikkila of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Deborah Scullin and Ryan Heikkila; her siblings, Ann Williams and her husband Frank, Julie Crocitto and her husband Todd, Lino Marcella, Lucy Marcella and Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maria was also predeceased by her husband Ray Heikkila, her brother Frank Marcella, and her Stepson Ryan Heikkila.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla.
