Maria Spaziani, a 10-year resident of Fishkill, NY, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. She was 92. Daughter of the late Domenico Angelo and Eva (Fonzi) Morelli, she was born in Caporciano (L'Aquila), Italy on May 24, 1932. In 1946, she and her family emigrated to the United States from Italy aboard the SS Perch, and soon after settled in Brooklyn, NY. Maria graduated from Prospect High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College. Following graduation, she worked on Wall Street as an administrative assistant for State Street Bank and CitiBank. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. On October 22, 1955, she married Armando Spaziani at the Regina Pacis Votive Shrine in Brooklyn. Armando survives at home in Fishkill. Additional survivors include her son, Joseph T. Spaziani of Naples, FL; her son, Anthony T. Spaziani & his wife Jeanne of Stormville; her granddaughters, Victoria Spaziani of Concord, NC and Teresa Liberti & her husband Frank of Charlotte, NC; her siblings, Anthony Morelli of Peoria, AZ and Giovanna Morelli of Santa Cruz, CA; her sister-in-law, Shirna Vaz Morelli of Sliver Spring, MD; her nieces and nephews, along with their families, Angelina & Mark Trebitowski of Peoria, AZ, Yvette & Barry Geisemann of Phoenix, AZ, Jesse & Sam Leonard of Sacramento, CA, Nicky Morelli of Silver Spring, MD, Nino & Sara Morelli of Silver Spring, MD, Gaetano Spaziani of Fishkill, and Anthony & Lorrie Spaziani of South Salem, NY; as well as many other loving family members. In addition to her parents, Maria was also predeceased by a brother, Michael Morelli. Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16 at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4199 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
