Marian
Phimister
May 26, 1944 – December 11, 2024
Marian C. Phimister passed away on December 11, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born in the Bronx on May 26, 1944 to the late Gustave and Jane (Flanagan) Kousek.
Marian was 1 of 4 girls who grew up in the Bronx. She loved and shared a special bond with her 3 sisters. She and her sisters would go to Jones Beach and make special memories every summer growing up. She went to catholic school and had a spiritual connection with God and the music from the church. She was Ms. Bronx in her younger years.
Marian gave birth to 4 children: 2 boys and 2 girls who she was most proud of and her biggest accomplishment in life. She had 10 grandchildren that she was happy to have.
Marian's passion was shopping! Any kind of shopping whether it be make-up, clothes, or food. Just one of something was never enough! She loved to dress in a flashy style with her hair & make-up as glamorous as possible. Sparkle and fur were her favorites.
Everyone knew when Marian entered the room. Marian had many fond memories of her time at Senior Court apartments. She especially adored her close friends Betty and Bob. She loved the parties and participated in the singing and dancing on many occasions.
She will be missed by many but knowing she is at peace now is comforting.
Marian is survived by her son Donald Phimister of East Lyme, CT, her daughter Alina Belcastro and her husband David of Newburgh, NY, her daughter Kim Talsma of Cornwall, NY, and her son Ian Phimister and his wife Charity of New York, NY; her grandchildren: Ronan and William Phimister, Justin Curtis and his husband Matt Glatt, Tyler Curtis, Drew, Brett, and Cole Belcastro, Tristan Talsma and his wife Melinda Camacho, and Meghan and Aidan Talsma; her sisters Judy Wyskida of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Ginny Reilley of Dover, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Kieran.
Marian is predeceased by her sister Carol Gover; her nephew Johnny Reilley, and her brothers-in-law Walter Wyskida and John Reilley.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday December 20, 2024 at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
