NEWBURGH – Marie Cioffero, 83, died peacefully at home on March 4, 2021. A lifelong resident of Greenwich Village, she has lived in Newburgh for the last 4 years.

Born in Manhattan on December 1, 1937, Marie was the daughter of the late Adolpho and Angelina (Scrivani) Malatesta. She was employed at a variety store in Manhattan for many years before retiring from CHF Industries in Manhattan.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Rickey and her husband Thomas; and her grandchildren, Daniella Gioia, Vincent Gioia, and Jonathan Gioia. Marie was also predeceased by her granddaughter, the light of her life, Julia Gioia.

Marie loved to travel with her girlfriends, and especially enjoyed taking trips to the casinos. More than anything else, her family was her entire world.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required.
