Marie C. DiNonno, 99, a resident of Wells since 2006 and formerly a longtime resident of Hopewell Junction, Wappingers Falls and Queens, died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
Born in Brooklyn on December 12, 1911, she was the daughter of Alexander Francis and Wilhelmenia Rita Lotz Krieger. She was a parishioner of St. Ann's Church in Wells and was a member of St. Mary's Council #4065 Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the St. Denis-St. Columba-Blessed Kateri Altar Rosary Society and the East Fishkill Seniors. She enjoyed reading, playing pinnacle and making handcrafts.
On January 10, 1931 in Brooklyn, Marie married Philip John DiNonno, Sr. who died on January 18, 1980. She is survived by her children, Patricia Flynn and her husband Richard of Wells, Philip John DiNonno of Lady Lake, FL, Marie Ann Wood of South Burlington, VT and Paul DiNonno of Young Harris, GA; her stepsister, Arlene Seager of Brooklyn; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 9 great, great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
