Obituary

Marie E. Fetzer was granted her angel wings on Monday, April 18, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving husband, Frank, and other family members, friends, and caregivers.

She was born in Jamaica, NY on May 3, 1934 to the late Angelo and Elvira Masciarelli. Marie led a very active life and participated in school as a cheerleader, prom queen, and in many school plays. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality Society.

On November 13, 1954, she married the love of her life, Frank J. Fetzer, III in Eastchester at Immaculate Conception Church. Mr. Fetzer survives at home.

Marie is also survived by her loving children, daughter Debbie Lang and son-in-law Jeff Lang of Athens, NY, son Frank Fetzer, IV and daughter-in-law Maureen, and son Timothy J. Fetzer, all of Stormville, NY; her beautiful grandchildren, Brittany, Michael, and Jenna Lang of Athens, NY, Frank J. Fetzer, V and Nicholas Fetzer of Stormville, and Goldie Sue Fetzer of Stormville; her brothers, Lewis Massi and sister-in-law Barb Massi of Armonk and Ronald Masciarelli and sister-in-law Anne Masciarelli of Danbury, CT; Sisters-in-law Jane Kopchak of Rononkoma and Judith Fetzer of Pleasant Valley; brother-in-law Daniel Fetzer of Eastchester; and several nieces and nephews. Her beloved dog, Buddy Fetzer, predeceased her in 2010.

Marie enjoyed her life with her family by cooking, baking, and spending special time with them. Marie also loved her cooking shows and spending time in her "Salad Bowl" greenhouse with her grandchildren during the summer. Marie had many friends and neighbors she met over the years. She enjoyed working for the Arlington School District, where she was known as "Mrs. Fetz" to many of her children's friends. She retired from IBM in 1992 and had also worked at Dr. Rao's office in Wappingers Falls. "Mama Fetz" will always be remembered for her loving support, compassion, and kindness.

Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers who provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life at Northern Dutchess Hospital and Arch Care at Ferncliff in Rhinebeck.
