Marie Concetta Masterjoseph, 78, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 13 years and formerly of Yonkers, died on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Yonkers on August 28, 1936, she was the daughter of Joseph and Carmella Giachello Giannotto. Marie had been employed as an administrative assistant at Elizabeth Seton College in Yonkers. She attended Mass at St. Denis Church, and loved spending time with her family and friends at their vacation home in Saranac. She was a member of the East Fishkill Seniors, and enjoyed trips to the casinos.
On May 18, 1958 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Yonkers, Marie married Liebert J. "Chip" Masterjoseph who predeceased her on May 9, 2011. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Lee and Lou DiLello of Stormville, Maria and Victor Gutierrez of Pleasant Valley, Christine and Scott Harsaghy of Stormville; her grandsons, Nicholas and Michael DiLello; her brothers and their wives, Morris and Irene Giannotto of Eastchester, Nicholas and Evelyn Giannotto of Arkansas; her sister, Margaret DiFilippo of Oneonta; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
