EAST FISHKILL – Marilyn J. Ciancio, 82, an area resident since 1976 and formerly of the Bronx, found her heavenly home on January 18, 2023.
Born in Manhattan on June 15, 1940, she was the daughter of Henry and Jeune (Moore) Goddard. Marilyn was a Special Ed bus driver for the Wappingers Central School District for many years. She had a very special love for all children. She was an earthly angel and guardian of babies and young children especially, and she cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great grands like no other.
Marilyn was a member of St. Nicholas-on-the-Hudson Church. She was a soprano in their choir, and in her city church, The Chapel of the Intercession, when growing up. She loved singing and listening to music. She was a girl scout troop leader, enjoyed playing volleyball, bowling, walking, working outdoors, and baseball-her Mets.
On May 11, 1963 in the Bronx, Marilyn married the love of her life, Silvio P. Ciancio, who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter Jill Haack and husband Jerry; her son, James Ciancio and wife Danielle; daughter-in-law, Heidi Ciancio; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Anthony, Stephanie and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Leonardo, Elijah, Jacob, Cameron, Alyvia and Lillian; siblings, Richard Goddard, Nancy Young, Deborah Goddard, Pam Wendell and Sharon Knox; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Andrew Ciancio.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12pm at St. Nicholas-on-the-Hudson Church, 37 Point St, New Hamburg followed by interment in Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
