FISHKILL - Marilyn Somers, a resident of Fishkill, NY since 1959, passed away peacefully at her home in Fishkill surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 22, 2024. She was 89.

Daughter of the late John and Julia (O'Brien) Lastrom, she was born in New York City on January 2, 1935.

Marilyn was a longtime dedicated parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where for many years she served as cook for the pastoral residence. She was an avid golfer who belonged to Beekman Country Club. She loved traveling, especially with her "Golf Girls", and taking trips to Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun. Marilyn always enjoyed poker nights with the girls and Steve.

Marilyn is survived by her three daughters: Linda Hofer & her husband Ronald of Parrish, FL, Cindy Spahn & her husband Steven of Wappingers Falls, NY, and Laura Mann & her husband David of Maybrook, NY; her granddaughters: Kimberly Brown & her husband Michael of Poughkeepsie, NY, Erica Pikor & her husband Gregory of Hopewell Junction, NY, Summer Fisher of Temple Hills, MD and Zoe Mann of Maybrook, NY; her great-grandchildren: Evan, Hanna, Emma, Xavier, Jaxon, and Maxim; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 26 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
