Marilyn Stewart ,86, a resident of Poughquag, New York died on September 15, 2021. She had lived for many years in Armonk New York.
Born in the Bronx on June 7, 1935, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Sarah (Atson) McGuire and William McGuire. Marilyn was one of ten children. She loved growing up in the Bronx where the family lived in Harding Park, a beach community. Her dad worked for Penn Central Railroad. Her mother, Sarah, had great faith and a big heart for many even outside her family of ten. Her sister Maureen McGuire lives in New Jersey with her husband William Wong. Marilyn raised Maureen since she was nine years old when their parents died in 1958. Her sisters, deceased, are: Irene Everdell, Vera Cataldo, Helen Gibbs, Pat Devlin. Her brothers also deceased are Tom McGuire, Warren McGuire, Raymond McGuire and Buddy McGuire.There are over 50 nieces and nephews. Many have said Marilyn was their favorite aunt.
Her most recent career was as an Executive Secretary at North Star Company. Marilyn was also a secretary in the Byram Hills School District. The aspect of her life that gave her the most joy was her children.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim Stewart, Sr. They married on January 7, 1955. They lived in the Bronx until Jim Sr. built their home in Armonk, New York. Marilyn is survived by her two children Kathy Guglielmo and Jim Stewart. Marilyn lived most recently with her son Jim Jr. Kathy and Jim always helped Marilyn in her more than 25 year battle against the painful autoimmune diseases Rheumatoid Arthritis and Sjogren.
